Hirst Battles from the Back. . . TWICE!

6/12/17-  The Roth Motorsports team competed at their home tracks this weekend.  Racing at the Keller Auto Speedway on Friday night and the Thunderbowl Raceway on Saturday night.

On Friday night in Hanford, CA the Roth team and driver Kyle Hirst encountered engine problems early which prevented Hirst from making a qualifying lap.

After an engine change, Hirst would tag the back of Heat #3 and finish fifth.  With no qualifying time, Hirst would start at the tail end of the 21 car field where he battled his way to a 3rd place finish in the Feature event.

On Saturday night, the team headed to Tulare, CA for an evening with the KWS-NARC Fujitsu Series.  Hirst and his team started the night with better results, qualifying 4th over-all.  Starting third in Heat #2, Hirst would gain one spot to finish second and transfer into the Dash event.  By virtue of a draw, Hirst would line up on the pole of the Dash and go on to win the event.

Adding a twist to the evening, the pole sitter of the Feature event would be offered a challenge.  The “front row challenge” would place the pole sitter at the rear of the field, adding an additional $1500.00 into the drivers pocket if able to race to the front to win the Feature event.

Hirst and the Roth Motorsports team accepted the challenge.  Starting at the rear of the field, Hirst raced his Roth Enterprise/HR Livestock machine up to the seventh spot by lap seven.  With the smell of rubber in the air, Hirst would settle for a 7th place finish on the “rubber down” track.

Hirst commented after the race, “Can’t thank Dennis and Teresa Roth enough.  We accepted the challenge and came up a little short with the track taking rubber”.

ON TAP: Hirst and the Roth Motorsports team will be racing Friday night at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA.  Saturday night at Antioch Speedway with the 360 Sprint Car Challenge Tour.

The Roth Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Enterprises, HR Livestock Transportation, Roth Investments, 3H Cattle, FK Rod Ends, Weld Wheels, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Kent Performance and Astro Titanium for their support in 2017.
