Hirst Captures First World of Outlaws Victory at Gold Cup

9/12/17- Paradise, CA driver Kyle Hirst captured his first World of Outlaws victory last Friday evening during the 64th annual “Gold Cup” weekend at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, California.

Hirst and his Roth Motorsports team put together a solid night of racing; qualifying fourth, winning their heat race and most importantly winning the dash which allowed Hirst to start on the pole for the 30-Lap A-Main event.

Hirst would lead the main event for the first seven laps until second place Shane Stewart gained on him in lapped traffic.  The duo “banged” wheels on the front stretch, allowing Stewart to take over the lead as Hirst followed in second.  A mistake by Stewart in turn 3 allowed Hirst to gain on the leader and make the pass for the lead off turn 4.  Hirst would continue to lead up until Lap 28 as Stewart slid his car up in front of him in turn 4.  Hirst would counteract and drive back underneath Stewart off turn 4, Stewart again tried a “slide job” on Lap 29 with the same results.  Hirst went on to win the 30-Lap A-Main event, earning his first career “WoO” victory and 8th overall win at the Silver Dollar Speedway in 2017.

Saturday evening, Hirst and his Roth team would show their strength again.  Qualifying third, winning their heat race and finishing fourth in the dash.   Lining up outside Row #2, Hirst would quickly move into the third position and maintained throughout the 40-Lap event.  Finishing third, Hirst earned his Roth Enterprise/HR Livestock Transportation team another podium finish.

The Roth Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Enterprises, HR Livestock Transportation, Roth Investments, 3H Cattle, FK Rod Ends, Weld Wheels, Brown & Miller Racing Solutions, Kent Performance and Astro Titanium for their support in 2017.

ON TAP: Hirst and the Roth Motorsports team will be racing Friday and Saturday night with the World of Outlaws at Calistoga Speedway.
