Hirst Wins Second Consecutive Tyler Wolf Memorial

8/21/17-  Paradise, CA driver Kyle Hirst won in thrilling fashion Friday evening at Silver Dollar Speedway, taking home the Tyler Wolf Memorial trophy and a $3500 paycheck.

After a sixth place qualifying effort and a second place heat race finish, Hirst lined up his Roth Enterprise/HR Livestock entry inside row #5 for the start of the A-Main feature event.  Hirst wasted no time as he maneuvered his car around the 1/4 mile bullring and found himself in fourth place by Lap 12.  A caution on Lap 17 gave Hirst a much needed break and on the restart gaining himself another position into third.  A second caution with three laps remaining lined Hirst up on the inside of row #2, behind race leader Sean Becker and D.J. Netto.  Making an outside move around Netto, Hirst set his sights on Becker as the white flag flew.  Hirst used his momentum around turns 1 & 2 to gain on Becker, as they entered turn 3 Hirst went high and passed Becker coming off of turn 4 as the checkered flag waved.

“I never saw the white flag, when I came around and passed Sean for the win I saw the checkered flag and couldn’t believe it.” said Hirst.  This marks Hirst’s second consecutive year winning the Tyler Wolf Memorial and also his third consecutive win at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA.
