Racing History

 

Dennis and Teresa Roth formed Roth Motor Sports in 1992 which is based in Fresno, California. The first event they participated in was the Rebel 360 Class at Kings Speedway. They became the track champions there in 1993 with Todd Ventura as the driver. The 83 team also competed at tracks throughout California participating in NARC and the Golden State Challenge. There have been some of California’s premier drivers wheeling the number 83 during this time with the likes of Brent Kaeding, Tim Kaeding, Bud Kaeding, Paul McMahan, Randy Hannigan, and Ronnie Day.

Roth Motor Sports began their first World of Outlaw season in 1995. Over the years they have had numerous Outlaw drivers such as Joey Saldana, Jac Haudenchild, Tim Shaffer and past World of Outlaw champions Sammy  Swindell, Danny Lasoski , and Mark Kinser.

In 1998 the Roth 83 team won the Knoxville Nationals and in 2006 the National Sprint Tour championship with Danny Lasoski. They are 3 time Dirt Cup champions with Randy Hannigan as the first winner, Washington’s home town sensation and NASCAR star Kasey Kahne as the second, and in 2007 Brandon Wimmer as the third. These teams have won races in all types of sanctioned bodies from the World of Outlaws to All Stars, from Dirt Cup to Trophy Cup.

In 2011, the Roth 83 team claimed the King of the West Series Championship with driver Tim Kaeding. In addition, claiming back to back KWS championships in 2013 and 2014 with driver Kyle Hirst.

These teams have had some of open wheels best mechanics which include Karl Kinser, Kenny Woodruff, Larry Trigueiro, Rob Hart, Troy Welty, Mark Ellis and Davey Whitworth.
